Can pepper go inside water without getting wet?

Pepper does get wet in water, but it does not dissolve like salt and other elements do. One experiment you can do is to mix salt and pepper together and ask how you could separate them. Put both in a cup of water until the salt is dissolved; then strain out the water and only the pepper is left.
