Okay, I know this one has been around a long time, but my daughter loves this series. It's the first chapter book she would sit still to listen too. She loves the history aspect of it and that a strong girl is the central character.

I never read this as a kid, but discovered it as an adult (and loved it). I think it's so great that you are able to share this classic favorite with your daughter. She gets to enjoy this great time with you in read-alouds, and soon enough she'll be reading them on her own!
