Magic Treehouse series

My 6-year-old loves the Magic Treehouse series. He loves having me read the books to him or listening to them on CDs. I love that he's effortlessly learning so much about history. We were listening to a jazz CD one day, and he asked me, "Is that Louis Armstrong?" It wasn't, but still... I love it that he knows who Louis Armstrong, thanks to Magic Treehouse books.

listening to harder books
by: Kelli

What a great idea to listen to these books on CD! Something he can do on his own when you aren't available to read them out loud.

I feel about kids reading the same way I feel about playing piano. We sight read songs at a basic level we can handle, but we listen to great music to inspire us to learn more and become better at it.

Same with kids. First graders may only be able to read easy words, but they need to hear hard books that they can work up to. I think it's wonderful you are doing this with Magic Tree House.
