Millions of Cats

by Wanda Gaag

This is a simple story about a little old man and a little old woman who were very lonely. The woman wants a cat, so her husband goes off to find one. But instead of one cat, he finds a whole field of them--

Cats here, cats there
Cats and kittens everywhere
Hundreds of cats, thousands of cats, millions and billions and trillions of cats!

It has really basic black and white line drawings, which are kind of out of favor in our world of color and activity, but it still totally works, and the rhythm makes it easy to involve kids in the telling of it. Very fun and sweet book!
