The Kissing Hand

by Amy
( San Francisco)

This is a story about a raccoon going to night school for the first time. His mother uses the kissing hand to boost confidence. She places the kiss in his palm to remind him that her love is with him throughout the day. This is a very touching story that has helped both of my kids through tough transitions to new schools. Now we do the kissing hand every morning.:)

I'd never heard of this book before. I went to the library and checked it out--boy does this author know the mind of kids! What a lovely story! Loved the little details too, like school happening at night since raccoons are nocturnal...
